Coloured Pencil – Portraits

Wednesday, 9 am – 12 noon, March 12 - April 16, 2025 (6 weeks)

In this six week session you will gain confidence in your ability to draw realistic portraits using the versatile medium of coloured pencil. Experiment with various pencil techniques and use the fundamentals of blending and layering to create accurate drawings of adults and children. Instruction will include demonstrations as well as individual guidance. Previous experience with coloured pencils is recommended. Photo-reference will be provided by the instructor.

Drawing – Beyond the Basics

Tuesday, 9:30 am - 12 noon, January 14 - February 18, 2025 (6 weeks)

For pencil enthusiasts who have completed a basic drawing class, or have previous drawing experience, this 6-week session is a chance to take the basics that you have learned and use them with a variety of subjects. Gain more confidence in your abilities, using line, proportion, depth, values and perspective to create realistic drawings. The class will be taught with demonstrations and one-on-one guidance. Coloured Pencil on Black Paper

Tuesday, 1 - 4 pm, February 25 - April 1, 2025 (6 weeks)

Draw a variety of subjects, including animals, nature and nightscapes, all on black paper. An introductory class or previous coloured pencil experience is recommended. Gain experience with choosing colours and problem solving as you focus on basic shapes, values and textures. The class will include demonstrations and individual guidance.
